9 Car Organization Hacks to Keep Your Car’s Interior Organized

People spend a lot of time in their vehicles. Fast food containers get tossed in the back, empty water and soda bottles on the floor, last week’s workout clothes in the trunk, and so on. Before you know it, your car looks like a mini-trash truck and can start to take on some funky smells.

Whether you are going across town or across the country, there are several car organization hacks you need to know to help keep your car cleaner, neater, and better organized.

Hack #1: Start with a Clean Car Interior

Clean Car InteriorSwing by your local car wash and give the interior a detailed cleaning. Start by cleaning all the trash out. Next, grab a microfiber cloth and some Armor All cleaner and wipe down everything. If you have staining on the seats, use some upholstery cleaner. Last, vacuum out the car. Take your time and remember to get under the seats and in the trunk too!

Hack #2: Freshen Up the Interior

Stock up on some Little Trees air fresheners to get rid of those funky smells and odors your car may have taken on. You can place the air fresheners under seats, in the trunk, and in other areas besides hanging off the rearview mirror.

Hack #3: Put a High-Quality Laundry Basket or Two in the Trunk

Laundry baskets are great to keep things organized and not rolling around. You could use one for all your car wash supplies like Armor All products, microfiber towels, detailing suppliers, and more. The other is perfect for keeping groceries in and other shopping so you just have to carry one basket instead of numerous smaller bags.

Hack #4: Recycle Old Tissue Boxes and Grocery Bags

Take an empty tissue box and fill it up with plastic grocery bags. Place this in your car somewhere. The bags are great to use as small garbage bags.

Hack #5: Get a Small Shoe/Closet Organizer

Hang up a small shoe or closet organizer on the back of your seats. You can use the empty slots to store a wide range of items like wipes, tissue, and more. If you have children, you can store some toys, games, and other items in there too!

Hack #6: Get a Plastic/Reusable Cereal Container

This type of container makes the perfect small trash can to keep in the front and back seat since it doesn’t take up much room. Put a plastic grocery bag inside as a liner.

Hack #7: Get Some Silicone Cupcake Liners

Interior Car Accessories and OrganizersSilicone cupcake liners fit neatly into cup holders and help keep them from getting dirty and sticky. Remove the liners about once a month, wash, and reuse or replace them with another color to switch things up.

Hack #8: Recycle an Empty Pill Bottle or Two

Instead of tossing out that empty pill bottle that had headache pills in it, use it to keep loose change in instead.

Hack #9: Repurpose Pen/Pencil Holder Cups

Pen and pencil holder cups are great for storing other items in them, like female hygiene products, dollar bills, and more. Then just set the cup inside the center console. Alternatively, get a cell cup that can hold loose change, phones, sunglasses, GPS and MP3 players, pens, business cards, and more!
